Feel the sand between your toes and the warm summer breeze on your skin. Listen as little toes tap along the boardwalk and little voices call out with joy. Here, on the Pandosy Pier among the woods and the water, everyone is welcome.
When the City of Kelowna put the call out to local dock builders to create an accessible pier as the focal point of the city’s first park in 10 years, we immediately put up our hands. We believe in supporting our community, and this pier will help everyone make the most of the lake.
Reaching into Okanagan Lake from the shores of Pandosy Waterfront Park, the new Pandosy Pier features durable steel pilings, steel framework and treated Douglas Fur decking. A floating EZ Launch deck helps ensure everyone can get into kayaks and canoes with ease.
Nestled at the edge of Cedar Avenue along the Abbott Active Transport Corridor and Kelowna Paddle Trail next to the Kelowna Paddle Centre, the pier completes the new park that features:
- Accessible public pathways
- A stunning boardwalk feature connected to the pier
- Stylish benches that fit the feel of the neighbourhood
- Basketball courts made for pickup games
- A misting station to cool down on hot summer days
- Plenty of open space perfect for picnics

Overcoming Challenges
After bidding on the project, Shoreline got to work on the pier on October 2022. But, during the design and build phase, we encountered unique challenges related to water depth and low lake levels.
Our team spent months floating next to the shore to overcome these challenges before wrapping up construction in the spring in time for the official park opening ceremony in June.
Community at the Heart of the Pandosy Pier Project in Kelowna
After helping bring Peachland residents closer to the water through the Peachland Pier project, we knew we wanted to support an accessible dock build closer to home.
From Bob Jones’ first time in the water to founding Shoreline Pile Driving & Boat Lifts in 1983 and becoming Kelowna’s leading dock builder, our lives have been tied to the Okanagan, and we’re honoured to share our love of the lake with our community.
We hope everyone is excited to grab a coffee and pastry at Lakeview Market, walk through one of Kelowna’s nicest neighbourhoods and enjoy a warm summer afternoon on the Pandosy Pier.
At Shoreline, we’ve spent the last 40 years along the shores of Okanagan Lake building beautiful docks to cement our reputation as one of the province’s most trusted builders. The new pier joins our list of handiwork in some of Kelowna’s most iconic waterfront locations like the Kelowna Yacht Club, Manteo Beach Resort and Hotel Eldorado.
